Gower Peninsula’s Scenic Day Tour

Fabulous start to our upcoming tour day. The meeting spot was across the street from Bike Lock Coffee.

The owner a great gent
Latte happiness
True!!!

And funny TP 🤣 depends on the day

Our day ahead includes beaches, cliffs and seaside towns.

Quick stop in Swansea and not much happening. Tallest building and some really old boats.

Home to Dylan Thomas with no time to visit the museum.

The first trains of Wales on display but museum not open

No worries we’ve got places to see…and the first stop is Mumbles. I know I can be a mumbler especially when I’m tired. So my kinda town!!

You wonder if everyone mumbles
Or do they have something for mumbling
Looking at cards is just funny
Took a walk to the Oystermouth Castle
Wasn’t open yet

You might think these places not being open was an issue. Naw…we wanted to get to the beach trail and cliffs on another gorgeous sunny day in Southern Wales.

The big Apple

Closed 😩
Look closely on the left side of the sign
Found a cool rock left behind by Morgan’s Army. I’ll figure out a way to leave a Facebook post (not on it anymore) take some fun pictures and leave it for someone else to have rock fun

For now Péter Perlan from Iceland (Jeff is quite attached to him) has a new buddy “Big Foot”!!

Lighthouse off in the distance

Off to our next stop and hike

Gorgeous trail & scenery below

Survey says…

Or surveyor says

Off to Rhosili as the roads narrow and we wonder who’s going to win this match up…glad we’re in a nice lil tour van leaving the driving to Max

The tides in Wales are extreme and changing up to 50 feet +/- so it’s very important to know how to read a tide table

WOW!!! The cliffs above Rhossili Bay — one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in Wales. Then we encountered what has become a familiar part of life on the Gower Peninsula, where semi-feral Welsh ponies roam freely across windswept commons and coastal cliffs alongside walkers, surfers, and tourists. Shaggy, hardy, and completely unfazed by the Atlantic weather, the ponies have become one of the most distinctive sights along Wales’ wild coastline.

WHAT??
The little white home
A postcard setting

An unexpected day of surprise and awe in southern Wales.
