Welcome To JELLEN’s Adventures
Hi, it’s the Jeff part of JELLEN (Jeff-N-Ellen), are you ready for another travel adventure? Because, we are!! After our epic adventure last year we are at it again. Back to Europe to visit more countries, most of which I have never been to before.
Our original plans had us starting in Italy, which I have never been to, and spending time with Ellen’s sister who married an Italian and spent many years living and raising her kids there before they all returned to the US. She speaks Italian like she was born to it, and the kids speak it as well. They are all there for the summer, enjoying the Amalfi Coast. Our plans were to spend time with them in Italy, then venture North to Switzerland on our way to the Netherlands to see the women’s Solheim Cup tournament. We went to the tournament the last time it was in Europe 2 years ago when it was in Spain, before visiting some of our Canadian friends in Portugal. They were the ones that really got us hooked on Europe.
After the Solheim Cup, we planned to return to Italy to meet up again with our Canadian friends and another couple who are good friends that live near us in the same community.
We had the whole trip pretty much planned out, until, we went to a travel show where we met Rick Steves (yes, that Rick Steves, the European travel guru), and decided we wanted to take one of his tours. So, this year, we’re switching our ‘non-EU’ time to the beginning of our trip, because I’m still limited to 90 days in a 180 day period in the Shengen Area of Europe, and our original plans were going to take up the whole 90 days.
