Long journey to Scotland. We had a lovely flight to London last night. We upgraded to 1st and the pods were perfect for an 11 hour flight. We had little dividers so our space was our own.

We did not mean to bring the heat to London, and they hit their highest recorded temps of 95f/36c. They are not equipped with AC to combat it at Heathrow.
We arrived on time and got 5,000+ steps just walking from one terminal through security and passport control, to the bus to T5.
We went through security again and they decided to look through our bags. Mind you both rollers needed to be sat on to close. They pulled out my lock and asked me “what is this for?” I said “to lock my bag when we travel on the train.” I guess they wondered if I had some terrorist plot in mind.
Then they pulled our little bags and pulled everything out, EVERYTHING. My liquids caused some concern…they did a bunch of tests and some were even sealed…it is what it is and just smile because they are the boss of you at that moment in time.
Now I have 2 bags open and all of my stuff is all over the gray bin and they wanted me to grab them and get outta line. Plus we’re in Europe now and personal space is at a premium.
My shirt is soaking wet, my hair looks like I just showered, as we find a table to repack and get to the gate to fly to Inverness.
Easy squeezy flight and we arrived in the clouds and rain and temps much cooler.

We grab a cab and fight the Friday rush hour traffic. It’s all good, chatty driver interested in 🇺🇸 and our travels. Of course gas prices came up, and it’s 11 GBP OR $14 a US gallon WHAT!
We get to town and are all unpacked and chilling. We’re tired but happy to have the windows and doors open with a coolness is the air and a castle out the window.

Before we zzz I wanted to share this lil something we find easy and question why can’t we have this at home…

When you open a bottle the top STAYS ON!!!! So you never have it lost or jump out of your hand & land on the ground. You always have it attached, just in case you only drink part of it. One of my unsolved travel mysteries.
Tomorrow an early (hope not too early as we get time adjusted) breakfast and a walk around town.
