Inverness’ 3rd Day of Summer

Yesterday we asked our cab driver “how has summer been so far?” He said “so far, two nice summer days.” This morning we woke up to the start of blue skies & no rain. Looks like day 3 of summer.

Our first mission at 5am was to find coffee, the only place open was McD’s (sad) but we needed it after a long travel day. The early morning is perfect for a walk while the streets are mostly deserted before cafes open for breakfast at 8:00

Next the Inverness Castle

Love these lil coffee shoppes but not open yet

We’re trying not to jump ahead of what we’ll see on our Rick Steves tour that starts tomorrow evening. So we opted for a walk along the Ness River full of lovely old statues, sights and structures.

Locks of love
I’ll have my tea now, or just charge an e-bus!
So many tats I thought they were leggins

By now we are beyond peckish and do not want to get hangry…

A French bakery opens at 10 😩

A sign….and a breakfast cafe

I see the moon & the moon sees me, God bless the moon & God bless me

Lovely buffet of a true Scottish breakfast. The Europeans get it. We were asked if we have any allergies? They understand people may have, then we look over and there’s a litany of menus, the last one in braille.

By the time we get back to the river walk, the sun is shining and the white puffy clouds are taking over the city.

O happy day

Back over the River Ness but it’s only 7:10 and we’re feeling a nap coming over us

A bit more of the city and window shopping…

A lady stopped me and pointed to this sidewalk

Maybe we’ll join them in the pub

Which one???

Tough decision at the local t-shoppe

Jeff left, Ellen right, and the google “B” in the middle being useless!
No crabs on the tour per Rick Steves
We might see the real Nessie on Monday’s boat ride

So many buildings/churches have bright colored doors of Cubbie blue or this cool purple one

Getting close to our home away from home and the skies are lovely on this 3rd day of summer

After a long nap it’s time to venture out again

This girl was singing Jeff’s tune 🙂

Fresh caught haddock filled our tummies. They know how to cook fish! And, Péter Perlan has a coming out party at the local fish and chips. He’s really happy to be out on another adventure. 🙂
