With only a couple days until departure we are pretty much ready to go. After packing and re-packing, sorting and resorting, and pulling things out putting things in that we forgot, I believe we have everything in our carry-on roller bags, our personal item bags, and for Jeff, my medical bag, which is something new this year. I get to bring along a CPAP machine and another 4 1/2 months worth of medications. The good thing is that the medical bag does not count as a carry-on so I still get a small backpack that I can put under my seat.
I was lamenting the other day about not having much music on my phone (certainly not enough for a 10 hour flight from Phoenix to Heathrow), and not wanting to pay for a music subscription when we already have enough music to start our own radio station, I remembered we had a couple of iPods around the house that are plugged into those portable player/speaker thingies. Notwithstanding the fact that Apple no longer supports their iPod products, I have one that has 80 gigs worth of music so I will be bringing that and a pair of wired earphones. Going retro!
The weather will be a bit of a shocker; leaving Phoenix with temps around 110 and starting out in Inverness, Scotland in the rain and temps in the mid 60’s. Hmmm, did I pack my rubber socks? Better check 🙂
We’ve only got a few more things to check off the pre-departure list, so get ready, it’s going to be a busy 4 months!
