Just read the news that Robert Redford passed away. 😢. In 1978 when I was in college we saw a flyer that Robert Redford who was a friend of someone (don’t remember who) running for the Senate in Iowa was going to join him for a fundraiser. For a $5 donation you could attend, and have a coffee and donut with what’s his name and ROBERT REDFORD. Scrapping together $5, when you could get a beer for 25 cents and change back from your dollar at McDonalds, was not easy. But being in a room with him was going to be soooo worth it. A few of us gathered our $5, put on our best clothes a coed could muster and trekked to downtown Dubuque to get close enough to see that gorgeous face. We got as close as we could and called his name to get his attention, he looked over and smiled. Memories light the corners of my mind 🎶🎶🎶
I think I’ll go watch The Way We Were for the best hair touch to ever appear on the big screen.
