Irish Heritage

We met our cousins on my Fathers side and today were treated to some family history, great stories and photos from the past. I have to dedicate our post today to Aunt Lizzie Brennan.

Our great aunt Lizzie Brennan was one of the amazing women in Irish history. She carried top secret orders across enemy lines in her hat band ribbon. If she would have been caught she would have been shot dead on sight by British soldiers. Amazing woman!!! I will share her death notice.

We journeyed to Sixmilebridge to find her gravesite and pay tribute and our respects to her.

Sally had the pleasure of meeting Aunt Liz decades ago and taking her out for a stop at her local pub. She didn’t get around well but once she was in the car and you drove her to the local pub, her drink of Sherry was delivered to the her in the back seat of the car.
