We’re combining two days because yesterday we had a minor injury timeout and only managed a partial day. I’m only calling it a ‘minor’ injury because it is connected to a preexisting injury. Ellen tweaked her knee yesterday simply by stepping off the tram. Yes, that knee; the one with the torn meniscus.
Such a bummer, because it’s been holding up really well considering all the stairs (the worst) and walking up and down on these old cobblestone roads.
We had just exited the tram at the botanical gardens. After taking a minute, Ellen soldiered on and managed to cover pretty much the whole gardens before we walked back to the train and headed for the hotel and an ice pack and lots of Tylenol for the rest of the day.

The Botaniska Gardens was lovely and free. Must find a way to make a donation.

“I spy with my little eye a FROG in flowers!!! How cool is that!

Lovely Lilly pond flowers…

Then we walked into the gardens with lovely trees and amazing displays of gorgeous flowers with happy bees enjoying the nectar.

Then we found the rhododendrons

Such a beautiful place with rock gardens and water falls and trails

Made me very happy and we got back to our place before the rain arrived.
Today started out much better. We headed back to the Central station to buy tickets for our next country – Denmark. Peter came along. This guy is racking up some travel miles 🙂

Found the ticket booth but no trains to Copenhagen because of work being done on tracks…you need to take a bus; WHAT?

We’ll figure that out after our day at the Universeum, highly recommended by all including our waiter this morning.

Seven floors of cool exhibits from the oceans to the rainforest to dinosaurs to space to the human body. Even a cool lab for kids, they wouldn’t let us in. We ended the day with an epic 3D visualization of space from earth to the end of the universe and back.

What a day!! We’re back and are booked for our bus/train day tomorrow. If you ever make it to Göteborg Sweden the Riverton Hotel and staff are excellent. Jeff keeps getting help from the young woman at the front desk, Swedish, with the bluest eyes and eyelashes to die for…they are truly amazing.
The view from our window shows the ferries fighting strong winds & waves…

So we might just hit the rooftop bar for our final evening in Sweden. It’s been grand. On to Copenhagen Denmark…maybe we’ll stop feeling like munchkins; these Norwegians and Swedes at very tall! I swear, I’ve seen more people over 6’4” around here than at an NBA game!!
