Day-28 Alone in Oslo

It’s raining and our travel buddies are gone…waaaaaaa

We’ve reached the end of our pre-planned part of our adventure. So much for knowing where we were going and what we were doing (although, in Jeff’s case, that could be debatable). It’s time to make some Jellen plans.

We went to the train station to buy a ticket on the local metro versus walking in the rain to the travel store to get some maps.

We also decided our next destination is Stockholm Sweden. So we booked a first class train ride for Thursday.

That’s one busy board

Oslo station has a ticket kiosk with real people at a small desk with all the tools needed to help travelers. What a concept. Perfect customer service.

A quick stop at the pharmacy to get help with “Snorking”

Then we put our rain gear on and headed to the best travel store ever!!

We picked up a European train map because ours is sitting on our desk at home (doo dah) and Jeff FINALLY found a sippy top for his Hydroflask water bottle. I added a cool lil bag to my collection.
No more leaking/pouring water on airplane seats, car seats or pants legs.

After our shopping we walked around the city center and saw these adorable wee ones all geared up for the day

A double-wide convoy

We stopped for lunch at an adorable cafe and chatted up with a nice couple from the Netherlands. Nice people traveling to Norway for their summer holiday. We had to tell them we used up Norways beautiful sunny summer days in Bergen & Oslo.

We decided to take a tour of the History Museum. A great display of Viking history and artifacts. A fabulous section from the Inuit indigenous people of Norway. We learned a lot about the Sami people of the North on our travels to the land of Reindeer. Then a special section on the preservation (hiding) of antiquities of Norwegians from the Nazi invasion. A lovely museum to spend a rainy afternoon.

After, we walked back to the hotel to just chill…we haven’t done much of that and the skies are still gray

Péter showed up for some travel luck
