Day-24 Geiranger

Called the “pearl of the fjords” Geiranger is nestled in the towering peaks of Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO world heritage site and gateway to the most magnificent natural treasurers. This morning we all were on the top deck at 5:00am to experience the amazing 90 minute entrance to the fjord. The seven sisters waterfalls tumble 1,000 feet whilst directly across the fjord their suitor plunges into the water.

Then we hopped on a tender to take us to town.

We boarded a bus to take us on a windy hilly curvy road to two outlooks and a lake high above the village

Lucky us we were the first bus up the road which was perfect for minimal traffic and great views without crowds. It was an incredible ride and sights.

Our ship got smaller the higher up we went
That’s our ship down there
After our 11 hairpin turns we reversed and came down the road to Eagles Bend for more majestic scenery
And some locals
And a snow covered lake

After our bus ride we took a hike up the water falls that cascade right through town.
