Copenhagen last day

An amazing city. Fabulous people and I adore Denmark. When people meet visiting friends and family at the airport or train station or whatever, they wave the Denmark Flag to welcome them. What a cool tradition. 🇩🇰

Even Coca-Cola has the 🇩🇰 flag

I love the fact they accept and support people. They care about education for all, health care for all, take care of their elders. They are fit and ride their bikes everywhere. They find joy in taking care of their environment and recycle & repurpose everything. As the train ticket man said today, sure we’re happy but we still deal with the same shit. Of course, but they get it and I’m happy that we learned so much & recover cool snippets of life in Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Thank you Scandinavia 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇩🇰

Today was another beautiful day. We bought an all day metro pass and took off to explore some Danish design (it’s even on display inside the train stations as evidenced by our cover photo today)!

Easy to get to our destinations
First up…no just kidding

We planned a tour of the Denmark Design Museum. Going through the gift shop was a blast. Fun books, beautiful design gifts and some items to make you laugh.

My kind of strong women
We’re working on it
If only I had room

A room full of architecture designs that came to life after his prototypes

So impressive to walk through the rooms bursting with amazing patterns and fabric colors.

I did not get the design imagination gene but know a few that have it! Jeff is a big fan of the Danish design styles, especially their lighting and everyday items like dishes and silverware.

The “PH” lamp
designed by Danish designer and writer Poul Henningsen
Love the clean lines!
Cool bike
Shop stool?

An amazing collection & walk through history of Danish chair designs, we’ll share a few favorites

Love a designer chair

I guess I never stopped and thought about what it takes to actually come up with all this ‘stuff’ – designs, styles, textures, shapes, materials…Now, I think I’ve got a headache 🙂

Ouch!

Ok, time for some ‘lighter’ creative talent – street art. We hopped on the metro & then walked to the MACA museum where they have a Bansky exhibit & other street artists on display.

One of my favorites
We’re already there glad to be traveling
Another favorite from Shepard Fairey

We’re big fans of street art. Not only are they graphically stunning, but also have a message if you take the time to look and think about it.

That’s going to do it for Scandinavia. We headed back to the B&B after a lil ice cream to climb the 5 flights up one last time and get ready to head out in the morning.
