We have plans to see the city sights and walk the streets to explore the architecture, beauty and history.
First stop must be the 15th Century old Manneken Pis (translated to Lil Pissing Man)

Countries, dignitaries, royals and creative designers create and deliver different clothes representing a special day, historic event or something special to represent the gifting country. He has over 1,400 wardrobe changes, housed in a museum. There’s a non profit set up to dress the little man and it’s quite an honor. Tourist shots are exploding with his image and you can even order up a pancake in his likeness.
On to more tourist destinations. Of course we are in the country of the best chocolate so the Chocolate museum is next.

Each exhibit and movie taught us the history of cacao and demonstrated each region in countries that grow and produce this perfect beauty.

When we purchased the tix to this museum they offered a second tour that we could not resist.

This was educational, adorable and the history of the potato is amazing. As well as its health benefits…

We strolled through the city

Peyo the cartoonist created the Smurfs in 1958 in Brussels

In the early evening we began our comic walking tour with Cédric. He’s quite the expert on comic history, popularity and albums (comic books). The city commissioned wall art to celebrate these characters, stories and albums.
The first mural covered Brussels Smurf style

He was an excellent guide and our brains were full
We stopped for dinner and an ice cream and walked home. Some cool street art along the way

Tomorrow is our last day here. We have some more places to see and then to Brugge, the medieval city of Belgium.
