JEllens Adventure 2025 has come to an end. We have a long day ahead of us.
We have to do some serious adjustments upon returning after traveling for so long. More recap when we get unpacked & adjusted
Things will be different and many will be missed (not all 😜). Here’s a few that jump to the front of mind as we get on our plane
Drive on the right side of the road
When crossing streets look left first (and right is important too)
Food won’t be served piping hot
Plates will not be warmed
Peas will not be mushy
Belgium fries will not be served
The light switches will be on the inside of rooms
No paying for the loo
There will not be toilet bowl cleaning brushes in every bathroom (they were in public WC’s too)
Drivers won’t let you in or wave with a smile every time
No chips on the side at every meal
Drivers won’t always stop for you as a pedestrian
Euros will not the local currency
Using a 24 Hour Clock
Tapping always versus cash
Gas won’t cost $9 a gallon
No minimum charge for credit card purchases
Museums are often free and you can use your ticket for multiple days
Seniors always get a discount
Traveling by train
Public announcements and signs do not need to be translated
You won’t get run over by a sea of bikes commuting to work
Guinness won’t be as good
Pasteis de nata’s won’t be in the bakery
No FIKA unless you make it happen
Pride flags & stickers won’t be flying in every shop to support LGBTQ humans
Seeing MAGA hats again 🤮🤮🤮🤮 we never saw one in 12 countries and most people asked “how did this happen again??”
Our cousins won’t be a short drive away 😢
Alas, we get to sleep in our own bed
We get to see our sweet friends 💥
