When we first started planning our (getaway) adventure we learned that we, as US Citizens would be limited to 90 days of travel in the Schengen Area. For those of you surprised to hear this, below are the details.

We wanted to add on to our Norway cruise planned with our fabulous friends, the Haffleys & vanSon’s. Lori, Greg & JEllen toured Iceland for 11 glorious days around an island described as “other worldly.”

We were joined in Iceland by the vanSon’s, our other fabulous friends to start our Viking Cruise around Norway

We sure miss the best travel buddies, they made Iceland and Norway special and the memories made will be etched on our hearts forever.
The JEllen Adventure spent the past 90 days in 10 different countries. We’re not the least bit tired of traveling. We’ve done remarkably well together and even with the language barriers and travel challenges. We’re very good at translating and apps for trains and bus travel and parking when we rented a car. We adapted, fit in and found uniquely gorgeous and interesting places. We ate the best food in each country (except for that salted cod 🤢). This adventure definitely keeps us occupied from the news across the pond.
Today we depart the Schengen Area to spend a few months in Ireland. We’ll visit our adorable cousins and enjoy the Emerald Isle. It’s like coming home for us. 🇮🇪
