Bremen Germany

Hmmm interesting, that humans here are much more stoic and not quite as warm, fuzzy & engaging as our Scandinavian friends. A few memories popped in my mind from previous travels to Germany “you touch NUSSING!!!” and being told to “treat the bus bathroom like a post office, mail only letters NO PACKAGES!!” I tried with greetings of “gutten tag” and on the way out “donkey shorts” but wasn’t getting a warm response. So we’re outta here on our way to Brussels Belgium for more chocolate, waffles & beer!!!

This was a stop over to fill 2 days. We enjoyed the hotel and the nice walk around the city center & old town.

Adorable Citipost vehicle
Nice walk in the park
Some accordion music along the way
Buildings are BIG here
Bricks, big ones
Tis Mr ‘Schnoor’ himself outside the Schnoor District
When you walk around old town these little markers in the ground are a way to never get lost. Similar to Hansel and Gretel using breadcrumbs. Start and follow them and you’ll be back in the same place in an hour.
Old town Bremen is surrounded by cool new buildings
Streets with homes dating back to 1600’s
1759
1630’s
A WIDE range of choice at Daniel’s
Cats are scarce but not Katzens
Old telephone booth now planter
69 Slug Bug
A jewelry store owned by Schmuck 🤪
Johann Provost church is the only remaining cloister church in Bremen, the three-nave hall church was built around 1380.
Cuties
Grimms Fairytales 4 Musicians
Rub his hoofs for good luck
My turn

Sometimes just getting a picture can be a challenge :). Tourists!

Bremen Roland
Nice little house in the city!

Nice city for a stop. Historical and quite lovely; full of city parks and larger than life buildings.

Tonight we worked on the plan for the next weeks before arriving in Lagos Portugal on July 31st. Did you know that all roads lead to Rome AND all trains want to be routed through Paris! We decided against a Paris visit; it’s hot, crowded and they are way over “touristed” and have even closed places. So we will reroute and make some other quieter plans…coming soon. First Brussels!!
